31 Days of Ghosts: Weird West
By
Last week, I talked about the genre of Weird Tales (which includes horror, the occult, fantasy and science fiction). That genre includes Weird West. Take the elements of westerns like any spaghetti western, and drop elements of horror and macabre into it, or even fantasy and sci fi. The result is a familiar setting with slight differences in it that make it different.
Everybody likes Weird Tales!

I like weird western tales and movies. I can’t remember the name of one I watched where they were all dead and trapped in this western town, doomed to stay until they changed their ways. If they atoned, a stagecoach took them away.
How old was it?
Would that be Purgatory, starring Sam Shepard and Eric Roberts?
I’m not sure?
Yes! That’s it. Purgatory. I loved the surreal feel of it. And I love Eric Roberts.
Two pluses for you then!
