Johnny Ivanov was looking for test subjects. Thus far he had gone through lab animals and human cadavers, but had yet to work with live humans. Of course, in order to do that he would have to submit his nanomites to a rigorous round of testing, and then federal approval, and then more testing, and more approval. Not only was the process destined to be tedious, but it would require full disclosure of the nanomites' capabilities, which posed a moral question for Ivanov.
